  1. First create a free account, then simply upload your Excel (XLS or XLSX) file. You can browse for the file from your local machine, or connect to popular cloud storage services like Google Drive, AWS S3, OneDrive, Dropbox, and more. If you have multiple Excel files you can zip and upload the group. Gigasheet will automatically decompress your zip, extract the contents of the workbooks, and make them available for browsing online.
  2. Once your file has uploaded (and unzipped if necessary), Gigasheet processes and parses it. For exceptionally large files you may see a loading bar while data extraction completes. Note: Excel formulas and visualizations such as graphs and charts are not maintained. Only the data is extracted.
  3. After the file is extracted and the tabular data parsed, your file appears in your Library along with the resulting row and column counts. Click the name of the file to browse it as a spreadsheet.
  4. With the file open you can page through the rows, use Filters to build complex queries, use Groups to segment and analyze, and use built-in cleanup tools to find duplicates or missing values.
  5. To convert the workbook to CSV, click File > Export while viewing a table. The zipped CSV appears in your Library, ready to download.

Hospital Price Transparency Files in Excel

Hospitals publish standard charge files as CSV and Excel, and a single file often runs past the row limit Excel itself imposes. Opening it in the desktop app either fails or silently truncates, which is a bad way to find out your analysis was missing half the data. Gigasheet opens the whole file, so you can filter to one service line, payer, or code set and export just that slice.

Payer Transparency in Coverage files are JSON rather than Excel, and larger again. For those, use MRF Viewer, or start with how to open and view MRFs.
