Today I’m excited to announce that we’ve closed $7M in venture financing to bring data science and big data analytics to anyone who can use a spreadsheet. The funding comes from an incredible group of investors including Accomplice, Argon, Founder Collective, REV, alongside Crowdstrike co-founder Dmitri Alperovitch and Android co-founder Rich Miner. Truly an awesome group of supporters.
All this comes on the back of some outstanding growth: with more than four thousand users on the platform, our usage has increased 10X over the last 90 days. We’ve processed over 12 billion rows of user data in that time. Gigasheet users have discovered application areas we didn’t imagine when we launched the company in 2020. For instance, in recent weeks:
🇺🇦 IT admins in Ukraine have been using Gigasheet to analyze logs for Russian wiper malware, and security analysts are investigating troop data, leaks, and other open source intelligence.
🕵️ Christopher Ahlberg, CEO of security intelligence firm Recorded Future, recently analyzed a trove of Russian troop data leaked by Anonymous. “We were able to investigate a huge dump of Russian military data in just a few seconds,” he said. “It’s pretty amazing what you can do without setting up a thing.”
🦠 Public health researchers at universities and institutions in California, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, and Argentina are loading massive COVID datasets into Gigasheet to calculate local CFRs (case fatality rates) and for data surveillance.
🗳️ Local political campaigns in several states are using Gigasheet to analyze election voter roll data to maximize voter turnout.
We currently offer a free Community version where anyone can upload big data files like CSV or JSON. The Premium paid level of Gigasheet unlocks full file export capability, additional storage capacity, and data source integrations with cloud storage providers. The new Enterprise offering provides direct integration with popular SaaS platforms, scheduled data imports, and bundles of advanced features for users in fields like cybersecurity and sales and marketing data operations.
With this recent funding, we will make these offerings more comprehensive by adding more no-code data science capabilities, as well as robust APIs for increased automation. I believe this will further enhance our growth trajectory and am excited for the next chapter of Gigasheet progress.
